Tool & Die Maintenance Technician

On-site in City, State

Target salary range: $27.75 - $35.75/Hourly

Moseley Technical is seeking skilled Die Maintenance Technicians to support a leading manufacturing operation in the Huntsville, Alabama area. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving stamping die tooling to ensure efficient production and quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have experience with die maintenance, machining equipment, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain stamping die tooling.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, customer prints, specifications, layouts, and functional requirements.
  • Perform die cleaning, polishing, grinding, and hand-finishing as required.
  • Disassemble and reassemble dies according to design specifications.
  • Operate hoists and cranes to safely move dies and tooling.
  • Weld and repair tooling using various welding equipment.
  • Measure die components using metric measuring devices and precision tools.
  • Install and wire limit switches as needed.
  • Fabricate tooling components and fixtures as required.
  • Operate milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and other toolroom equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Support production needs by working across multiple areas and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Associate degree in a related technical field, Journeyman Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of die maintenance, tool and die, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to pass a mechanical aptitude assessment, if required.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of machining, welding, and mechanical repair techniques.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Work Environment

    • Manufacturing and industrial plant environment.
    • Frequent exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and elevated noise levels.
    • Exposure to stamping, welding, and related manufacturing operations.
    • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 33 pounds.
    • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the facility.
    • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements as needed.
    • Ability to safely navigate a manufacturing environment.
