This includes planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials. They monitor the availability of raw materials, ensure the efficient use of materials, and coordinate with other departments like procurement, production, and logistics to ensure a smooth manufacturing process. They also play a crucial role in cost reduction, waste minimization, and the efficient use of resources. Their tasks also extend to ensuring the quality of materials, managing supplier relationships, and developing strategies for inventory management.
