The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for monitoring and safeguarding inventory at various warehouse locations.
Deliverables:
Conduct semi-annual physical inventory counts at all warehouse locations
Design and implement a cycle count program at all warehouse locations (including third party locations) to verify the accuracy of the inventory and determine if adjustments are required
Investigate claims of shortages/overages by counting warehouse slots, reviewing shipping documentation, and performing other research to substantiate customer claims
Perform audits of customer orders by comparing items staged on loading dock to shipping documents
Review inventory listings on a routine basis to identify at-risk items and work with Purchasing and other departments to resolve
Prevent recurring customer claims by taking photos of staged orders, audit pallets, and certify quantities shipped
Work with Warehouse General Manager to review slot positions that experience recurring damage or mis-pick issues
Assist with warehouse projects such as slotting, racking, pick path changes, expansions, etc.
Document and report on activities performed such as results of physical counts, research of claims, validation of audit adjustments, etc.
Work with multiple departments including Transportation, Customer Service, Warehouse, Purchasing, Accounting and Management with an overall objective to maximize inventory accuracy and minimize loss and adjustments.
Qualifications:
4+ years of inventory control or warehouse management experience is required; a degree in a business or logistics field is preferred
An advanced knowledge of inventory management and warehousing practices is required
Demonstrate proficiency using computerized inventory systems and Excel.
Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with multiple departments and levels of management.
Able to work independently in a warehouse environment (including refrigerated) including walking, squatting, climbing, and lifting packages that could weigh up to 50 pounds, etc.
Certified to operate warehouse equipment such as a pallet jack and forklift
