About the Role

The Manager, Inventory Control is responsible for overseeing the management of materials from receipt of raw material to shipment of finished goods

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all receiving, handling, and control of raw materials and workinprocess inventory

  • Identify and recommend process improvements and wastereduction opportunities within inventory control operations

  • Ensure timely implementation of process enhancements while securing alignment from warehouse and production teams

  • Develop, implement, and maintain worldclass inventory management practices

  • Lead execution of the cycle count program to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy

  • Establish and optimize inventory control systems to support operational efficiency

  • Support facility layout planning to improve material flow and reduce handling time

  • Drive adoption of inventory control automation technologies

  • Partner with crossfunctional teams to support broader business objectives

  • Coach and mentor inventory control staff to achieve exceptional operational performance

  • Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluation, retention, and, when necessary, termination of team members

  • Adopt lean principles and avoid strains on working capital by reducing waste and focusing on being a sales-driven company making product to meet the demand.

  • Create a structured approach to planning for a lean manufacturing environment helping to generate high-quality products at a pace that matches market demand.

  • Streamlining processes to increase production efficiency and reducing inventory by using just-in-time inventory methods.

  • Develop planning tools and framework to obtain approval from main stakeholders.

  • Extensive knowledge and expert level user of Microsoft Office tools e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.

  • Experience with material handling automation

  • Knowledge of configuration control.

  • Experience working within an ISO quality plan is an asset.

  • Strong planning, organizational skills and attention to detail are required.

  • Team attitude: eager to cooperate with others, has exceptional interpersonal-communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing required.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of materials leadership experience.

  • Understanding of and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is preferred.

  • CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) credential offered by the Association for Operations Management (APICS) or CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Organizational/Quality Excellence) is highly desired.

Working Conditions

  • Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. R equired to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to e xert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Factory - The worker may be subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to temperature changes or exposure to chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes , airborne particles, odors, dust, mists, and gases . The noise level in the work environment can be loud. R equired to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes . Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats. May be required to e xert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
