Qualifications & Experience

Scope of Job: The Senior Rides Maintenance Manager is an integral part of the Technical Services management team and supports the wider leadership team at the resort. The main duties of this role is to support the function and manage safe and efficient availability of rides, water park, water quality, structures, auto, paint/fiberglass and workshops. Will oversee and ultimately be responsible for all scheduled and reactive work on LLF property while working with internal and external suppliers, including liaising directly with the ride manufacturer. Daily operations of all rides and attractions, scheduled PPMs, planned annual overhauls, projects, follow up work order requests and reacting to breakdowns ensuring safe and efficient availability while maintaining budget.

Main Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will be, but not limited to, the following: Manage a team of 5 direct and 40+ indirect reports of varied disciplines. Be responsible for the operational integrity for 30+ rides and attractions. This position is responsible to ensure the highest level of workplace and guest safety. Ensure that all rides and facilities are ready for safe operation prior to opening to team members or guests using checklists, procedures, and best practices. Oversee all planning and scheduling activities for the successful completion of projects that have to do with Ride or show modifications, as well as facility buildings and infrastructure. Understand Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) ride requirement, as well as regulatory requirements, are fully compliant for LEGOLAND Florida attractions. Lead the ride, water quality, auto, welding, machining, paint and fiberglass teams when completing routine maintenance and/or modifications. Assist and be hands-on as required, acting as a guide for repairs and supporting emergency situations. Co-manage the implementation and ongoing function of the CMMS program. Develop an action plan to successfully implement a predictive maintenance led maintenance regime through continuous improvement and efficiency projects. Complete an inventory and critical spares catalogue for each attraction, identifying end of life components and obsolete parts. Act as project manager within the ride maintenance team for upgrade and retrofit projects. Manage OpEx budgets and have oversite on CapEx investment. Provide a positive work environment through leadership and communication. Responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance of all ride and attraction mechanical/electrical equipment, paint and show quality as well as supporting the facilities structure. Responsible for daily inspection of all ride and attraction mechanical/electrical equipment, paint and show quality that supports the main maintenance team function. Lead and design training programs for existing and new employees in the mechanical field. Maintain good relationship with other stakeholders ensuring exceptional ride availability. Manage and maintain excellent workshop standards adhering to local and internal guidance/policies. Working closely with other teams in the technical services function to ensure best in class standards are upheld with preventive maintenance to ensure mechanical, electrical, controls and water quality are thoroughly checked and complete with minimal issues.

Health & Safety:

They must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake, and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

Background and Experience:

Previous Supervisory Experience a must. Strong people management skills to develop an effective team environment. Superior analytical skills when looking at mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical drawings pertaining to assembly and fault finding on a varied range of equipment. Attention to detail, foremost when dealing with life safety electrical equipment in a mechanical setting. Experience with I/O fault diagnosis, i.e. Allen Bradely, Siemens, PLC controls. Experience with mechanical assembly drawing identification (metric and standard). Extensive knowledge of materials and their application. Good knowledge of hazardous materials and waste management. Being able to complete the documentation of all mechanical, electrical and system changes. Experience with Low Voltage Electrical wiring and troubleshooting Experience with measuring devices; including but not limited to multi-meters, micrometers, calipers, DTIs, torque wrenches, tensioning devices, pressure gauges, load cells. Experience with hand tools (metric and standard), lifting equipment and machinery. Knowledge of lockout tag out procedure and its importance.

Physical Demands:

Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive. Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site. Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer. Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive. Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone. Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending or respiratory actions. Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations. Hear with surrounding distracting noises. Interact with guests and employees in a friendly and professional manner.

Education:

High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent is required. Formal qualification in a technical field (mechanical preferred). Continuous improvement qualification (Such as; Lean six sigma), preferred.

HSS:

Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials International), NEC (National Electrical Code), NSF (National Science Foundation), OHSA as well as state and local codes. Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Health, Safety & Security in the workplace and in line with the Merlin Entertainments Group Policy. Understand risk assessments within own workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to appropriate manager. Compliance of safe working procedures for work activities within ones job role, but cognizant of the effects on others prior to the activity/function. In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely manner to the duty manager.

Work Environment:

Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces. Work in extreme hot and cold conditions. Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

Other Job Requirements:

Performs other duties as assigned. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations. Must have a valid drivers license, safe driving record and be willing to utilize own vehicle for business purposes. Attendance is a mandatory function of this job.
