About the Role
As a Manufacturing Technician at Ampere Scientific, you will be hands-on in the assembly, wiring, and testing of our products from start to finish. You will work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures to build high-quality systems and contribute to the continuous improvement of our production processes. This role requires someone who takes ownership of their work, follows procedures, and can work in with a team. There is opportunity to travel both foreign and domestic to customer sites around the world.
Key Responsibilities
Assembly and fabrication of wire harnesses, electrical backplanes / enclosures, and sensor assemblies to engineering specifications and work instructions.
Wiring and integration of electrical backplanes including proper routing, termination, and labeling.
Assembly and mechanical integration of large fabricated mechanical components and structures.
Functional testing and quality assurance of assemblies, documenting results and identifying nonconformances.
Operation of hand and power tools including drills, saws, and CNC mill.
Reading and working from engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
Maintaining a clean, organized work area and adhering to all safety protocols.
Supporting shipping, packing, receiving, and inventory of production materials and components.
Occasional travel to customer sites, domestic and international, to support installation, commissioning of field service of equipment.
Participating in process improvement discussions and submitting recommendations to improve quality, efficiency, or safety.
Work with engineering and management personnel to clarify and improve documentation and processes.
What We're Looking For
2 or more years of experience in a hands-on manufacturing, assembly, or fabrication role
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience with electrical wiring is a +
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
Soldering experience is a +
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus through repetitive precision tasks
Disciplined approach to following work instructions and quality management procedures
Experience with metal fabrication or welding is a +
Comfortable reading basic electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites domestically and internationally, including obtaining and maintaining a valid passport
