How about this one? We're seeking a CNC Machinist - Laser / Bending (Direct Hire) to work at a premier manufacturing client in Farmington, CT . With us, it's all about finding the job that's just right. Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $23.00 - $43.00 per hour, plus a 15% shift differential after training. Compensation is based on experience. Shift: 2nd shift (Monday-Friday | 3:30 PM-12:00 AM). Initial training occurs on 1st shift for approximately 4-6 weeks; role transitions to 2nd shift upon completion of training. What's a typical day as CNC Machinist - Laser / Bending? You'll be: Setting up and operating CNC bending, laser cutting, and punching machines, including TRUMPF equipment. Supporting early-stage production runsdeveloping fixturing, machining methods, and processes. Reading blueprints and inspecting parts using calipers, protractors, tape measures, and other measuring tools. Maintaining high quality standards by ensuring parts meet specifications before proceeding to the next operation. Troubleshooting operating or programming issues to ensure top-quality laser-cut components. Sorting, staging, deburring, grinding, and cleaning sheet metal parts per production orders and drawings. Handling regular machine and area maintenance through 5S and TPM activities. Monitoring inventory levels in the sheet metal storage system. Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, drill presses, power tools, air tools, and grinders as needed. Participating in daily shop floor meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Lifting up to 70 lbs as required. This job might be an outstanding fit if you: Have a minimum of 2-3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in sheet metal fabrication. Are experienced in operating CNC bending, laser cutting, and punching machines (TRUMPF machine knowledge is a plus). Possess strong blueprint reading and basic inspection skills. Are comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with evolving processes. Are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high quality. Hold a high school diploma or equivalent. Are able to work full-time and adapt to 1st and 2nd shift schedules during the training transition.
