Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide leadership to explore and implement the use of technology to improve products and/or processes; technology that is "advanced," "innovative," or "cutting edge."

  • Lead large capital justification from specification to implementation.

  • Identify automation opportunities; determine feasibility, payback, and automation integration.

  • Lead or support large strategic projects that support company objectives; including new product line start-up, or acquisitions.

  • Leading role in creating "Best Practices" and replicate these standards in other factories location after successful implementation; this includes equipment specifications, process benchmarking.

  • Develop system of stating and modeling capacity for critical plant operations

  • Assume primary responsibility for the manufacturability of the new products. Work with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

  • Design jigs/fixtures that ensure productivity and print specification.

  • Develop workflow process for new manufacturing assembly lines.

  • Process improvement skills including the use of 'Lean' tools to drive increased manufacturing productivity, efficiency and safety.

WHAT'S NEEDED FOR YOU TO THRIVE

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have excellent project management and proven cross-functional team leading skills.
  • Ability to read blue prints at an advanced level.
  • Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • ERP system knowledge at an intermediate level.
  • CAD or 3D modeling system operation knowledge at an intermediate level.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal uses and formation, sheet metal working, and sheet metal applied technology at an advanced level.
  • Ability to think spatially and creatively at an advanced level.
  • Must have proven experience in performing time studies and setting routing standards.
  • Ability to analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency and safety.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • MBA and/or significant operations experience preferred.
