The Manufacturing Operator position is responsible for all tasks associated with the operation of all production-related equipment including, but not limited to: processor, mixer, extrusion line, press and rotary cutter, tape collar machine, pouch machine, fillers, cappers, case packers, coders, cap hoppers, loader, unloader, etc.
The operator must be able to start up and shut down all equipment according to established procedures or specifications and perform minor to major clearing of jams and downtime issues on the line.
The operator must report any abnormal equipment function or product problems to the production manager.
The operator may be required to perform job tasks at different work times, on different work schedules, and also in other departments dependent upon business needs.
The operator will be required to work overtime as needed, and to provide line coverage during vacations, roving holidays and sick time.
They must operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting accidents/incidents and adhering to all procedures and guidelines.
The operator will be expected to perform all quality and production checks required by work order or Preventive Maintenance. They will also perform housekeeping activities for all equipment.
This position involves the ability to troubleshoot on-line situations and to prioritize and complete several tasks concurrently within a given time frame and in a safe and efficient manner.
The operator is responsible for the safe operations of all equipment, promptly reports all incidents, injuries, or safety hazards.
The operator is responsible for maintaining general housekeeping cleaning, sanitation and safe work area by utilizing all cleaning and tools necessary to keep the area clean and clear of debris, safe, neat and organized.
The production operator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
They must keep accurate documentation of all production and quality reports.
The operator is responsible for reporting any abnormal equipment functions and product problems to the Supervisor.
The operator is expected to proactively identify and implement production improvements in their areas of responsibility.

The job requires attention to the details of work, handling then with better-than-average accuracy and with careful attention to the quality of the work. The focus is on working comfortably under close supervision within a stable, secure team. The pace of the job is steady and relatively unhurried, with an inclination to keep doing things the same way unless directed otherwise by a supervisor. When there is change in the structure of work or scope of responsibility, ample time will be provided to learn the new work thoroughly with opportunity for repetitive practice. If the job requires making decisions, such decisions will be made in close conference with the team and supervisors. When the job requires work to be completed under time pressures or in changing situations, management will provide close support and encouragement.
