CNC Machinist (Medical Devices)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce high-precision components for medical device applications. The ideal candidate will set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines, interpret blueprints using GD&T, and consistently meet quality standards under ISO 13485. This role supports production goals while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and quality requirements in a Lean manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision parts to print specifications.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T callouts to ensure dimensional and geometric compliance.Perform first-article inspections and in-process measurements using calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other metrology tools; document results per ISO 13485 procedures.Create, revise, and verify CNC programs using CAM software and collaborate with engineers on CAD models as needed.Select tooling, cutting speeds, feeds, and work holding appropriate for materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and cobalt chrome.Maintain accurate production records, nonconformance reports, and quality documentation in compliance with ISO and internal procedures.Troubleshoot machining issues, make corrective adjustments to tooling and programs, and implement process improvements to reduce scrap and cycle time.Follow cleanroom or controlled-environment protocols required for medical device manufacturing.Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste, participating in continuous improvement activities, and suggesting process optimizations.Train and mentor junior machinists and operators on machine setup, safe operation, and quality expectations.Qualifications2+ years of CNC machining experience, including setup and operation of lathes and milling centers.Hands-on experience in the medical device industry or with medical-grade components preferred; strong knowledge of ISO 13485 requirements.Proficient reading and applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure part conformity.Experience machining stainless steel, titanium, and cobalt chrome or other difficult-to-machine alloys.Familiarity with CAM (e.g., Mastercam) and CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) tools for program creation and revision.Strong metrology skills, including use of calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMMs.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and a demonstrated history of process improvement.High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or associate degree in machining, manufacturing technology, or related field preferred.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.BenefitsVacation/PTOMedicalDentalVision401kBonusRelocationTelecommute
