Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team in manufacturing precision metal parts, tools, and other components. Our client serves various industries, including Adhesives, Sealants, Silicones, Coatings, Cosmetics, Pharmaceuticals, and Specialty Chemicals. The ideal candidate will operate and prepare machines like lathes, drill presses, and grinding machines, following safety protocols. They will read blueprints and project specifications to determine necessary equipment and materials, creating a plan to execute projects efficiently. Responsibilities Create precision metal parts, tools, and components using a variety of equipment, such as lathes, drill presses, and grinding machines. Prepare and operate machines to grind, cut, and polish materials, finishing projects using manual tools. Study design criteria and read blueprints and project specifications to determine the required equipment and materials. Develop a plan to execute projects and select appropriate tools. Work on the Haas ST45L machine. Verify designs using CAD and G-Code. Perform heavy assembly or millwright work. Essential Skills Mechanical inclination with experience in heavy assembly or millwright work. Proficiency in reading blueprints. Experience with machines, rotating parts, couplings, bearings, seals, gearboxes, and motors. Possession of personal hand tools (tool program available). Experience with tolerances and testing. Consistent history of good attendance and teamwork. Experience with overhead cranes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with the Haas ST45L machine. The team consists of four assemblers, fostering a small family atmosphere. The shift is 1st shift, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with occasional 12-hour days and some weekend work due to high order volume. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FORT MILL, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
