Description

Position Summary

The Senior Shop Technician is responsible but not limited to performing various physical duties as assigned, maintaining all safety standards, performing advanced mechanical, electrical, and technical repair work on manufacturing equipment and machinery. This role supports production operations by ensuring that equipment is maintained at optimal levels of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Senior Shop Technician also mentors junior technicians, leads troubleshooting efforts, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Adhere to Employee's Responsibilities section set forth in Conco's Safety Policies & Procedure Manual

Cleanup work areas.

Perform complex repairs, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics on production and shop floor machinery

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.

Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose and repair machinery.

Use precision measuring instruments and diagnostic tools to ensure performance meets manufacturing specifications.

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.

Participate in team safety meetings and cross-functional planning sessions.

Online/remote safety training as required.

Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment.

An equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Experience with troubleshooting automated systems is a strong asset.

Detail oriented/ results driven.

Ability to work independently & in team environment with an appropriate sense of urgency and accuracy.

Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines

Attentive to detail and alert always to ensure safety.

Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers

The ability to communicate, listen and understand information and direction through spoken words and sentences

The ability to read, write and understand information and ideas.

The ability to speak clearly so others can understand.

The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction and the ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

OSHA 10/30

Forklift or crane operation license

Electrical or mechanical journeyman certification preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk and move for extended periods (8+ hours per day)

Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching in various work environments

Lifting and carrying tools, equipment, and materials up to 50 lbs (occasionally heavier with assistance)

Working in outdoor and indoor environments, sometimes in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

Climbing ladders, scaffolding, or working at heights as needed

Ability to operate hand tools, power tools and heavy machinery safely

Dexterity to perform fine motor tasks, such as wiring, assembling, or troubleshooting equipment

Driving for extended periods to custom sites, sometimes in remote locations

Working in confined spaces, such as crawl spaces, attics, or utility areas

Be aware of and adhere to safety protocols

Work Environment

The shop environment is a production floor in a manufacturing or warehouse facility. Employees work in a high-energy, safety-first environment with exposure to machinery noise, temperature variations, and physical tasks. Protective equipment including hard hats, gloves, and high-visibility clothing is provided and required.
