Shipping and Receiving Manager Jobs in British Columbia
A Shipping and Receiving Manager in the manufacturing industry is responsible for supervising all incoming and outgoing shipments. They ensure that all goods are packed properly, inventory is accurately recorded, and products are safely loaded and unloaded. In addition, they coordinate with distributors, maintain records of shipments, enforce safety regulations, and manage staff involved in the shipping and receiving processes. They also liaise with sales, supply chain and customer service teams to ensure that orders are processed promptly and customer requirements are met.
The Shipping and Receiving Manager should possess strong organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. They should also have a good understanding of inventory management and freight logistics. Proficiency in using inventory software and knowledge about safety and legal documentation procedures is also important. Certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) can be beneficial.
