Maintenance Technician Remote & Hybrid Only Jobs in North Carolina

A Maintenance Technician in the manufacturing industry is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of machinery and equipment. They perform routine checks, diagnose faults, undertake repairs, and carry out preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and disruptions to production processes. They may also assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensure safety and compliance standards are met, and provide technical assistance to other staff. They often work in collaboration with other technicians, engineers, and production personnel.

Key skills for this role include mechanical and electrical aptitude, problem-solving capabilities, and a keen attention to detail. A strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems is also beneficial. They should possess the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals. Certain certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT) or relevant trade certifications may be required. Prior roles a person might have before progressing to a Maintenance Technician include Maintenance Assistant, Production Operator, or an Apprentice in a relevant trade such as Electrician or Mechanic.
