CNC Lathe Operator Job Description The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC single turret lathes to produce high-quality parts according to blueprint specifications. This role demands a strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret drawings, an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and a commitment to safety and precision in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Operate single turret CNC lathe machines with live tooling capabilities. Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, pin gages, bore gages, and plug gages. Perform manual deburring of parts during the machining process. Make offsets to tooling under Fanuc controls. Identify and resolve machining issues, such as tool wear, to maintain required dimensions. Accurately record production data, including quantities and quality inspections. Follow all safety protocols and ensure the workspace is clean and organized. Essential Skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Familiarity with CNC lathes and measuring equipment. Strong focus on accuracy and quality. Strong communication skills. Ability to hold tolerances as tight as +/-.0002. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC lathe operation, specifically with Hardinge and Nakamura machines. Experience in machine operation and blueprint reading. Why Work Here?
