Operates packaging equipment used in the manufacturing of food products and work with other employees to effectively meet or exceed expectations for product quality and production rates. The operator must have a basic knowledge of how to set up, operate and maintain manufacturing machinery and equipment. Must obtain a basic knowledge of visual and dimensional inspection techniques. Adheres to company safety, conduct, and sanitation policies and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in all areas of responsibility. Follows established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Responsible for efficiently operating and maintaining assigned production line equipment.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Breaks down cheese equipment for sanitation.
  • Reassembles equipment after sanitation is complete.
  • Completes all required production and Q/A paperwork related to the introduction of cheese.
  • Provides proper housekeeping of Mac & cheese room throughout the shift.
  • Collects underweight, poorly sealed, etc. pouches.
  • Ensures necessary storage tubs, catch pans, etc. are properly emptied.
  • Stages necessary cartons for daily / shift production.
  • Ensures supplies, stages and fills glue as required.
  • Ensures supplies, stages, and fills printer ink as required.
  • Completes paperwork for finished carton check weigher.
  • Stages necessary cases for shift / daily production.
  • Cleans and sanitizes carton equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • May be assigned to work in extremely cold or hot conditions
  • Most positions are located in areas with loud noise and will require the employee to wear protective ear plugs
  • Other conditions include dust, wet floors, occasional smoke and fumes from cleaning chemicals (chorine)
  • Main activities will be walking, lifting, standing, sitting, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching and climbing. Some kneeling and reaching overhead work will also be required.
  • May occasionally be required to work in high places where fall protection is required.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Willingness to work weekends and overtime when required
  • Able to read, write and speak English

Starting Hourly Rate: $21.50

Schedule: 2nd shift / 12 hour days (3-2-2 schedule)
