What You'll Do Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulationsOperates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesParticipates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety CultureAny other tasks as assigned by supervisorOversee the compression of material to make bales; Remove and dispose of contaminated materials as neededKeep heavy equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; calling for repairsOperate various fixed and/or mobile equipment; observing varying conditions; adjusting equipment controlsOperates equipment to move material around the warehouse/yardSort material by grade, size and per customer specsTransport material using assigned equipmentWhat You'll Need Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work in all weather conditionsAble to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skillsMinimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferredPrevious experience operating forklift, skid steer, loader or similar equipmentPrior knowledge of metal identification is a plusAbility to change priorities quickly, work effectively under time constraints and contribute to the teamAbility to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shiftExperience in either recycling or manufacturing environment preferredExperience with metal sorting a plus but not required; to include the ability to distinguish between different metals and/or other materials for grading purposes and recognizing safety hazardsYour Education High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferredCMC is committed to providing equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, physical or mental disability, national origin, citizenship, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information, or other status protected by federal, state or local law.
