Job Title: Welding Production Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for safely meeting or exceeding scheduled labor hours for tasks assigned in their respective areas by effectively communicating daily tasks to meet or exceed the production schedule. The supervisor must ensure job boards are current and accurate daily. A comprehensive understanding of production schedules, capacity requirements, and process flows is essential to ensure proper job execution.

Responsibilities

  • Submit a detailed weekly production plan for assigned areas or departments.

  • Identify and reduce waste in all assigned areas using Lean Principles.

  • Ensure daily compliance with 5S and tool board requirements and maintain accurate data recording logs as necessary.

  • Conduct weekly 5S audits within areas of responsibility with a target of at least 90.

  • Plan work to keep employees on task by providing necessary drawings and materials to complete tasks on time.

  • Develop recovery plans to get back on schedule when off track, subject to approval by the Manufacturing Manager.

  • Ensure employee safety and environmental awareness throughout the facility.

  • Maintain quality of work within job scope in assigned departments.

  • Enforce company policy as outlined in the company handbook.

  • Maintain current and accurate performance metrics in your areas.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience in heavy industrial or fabrication functions.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in dealing with diverse work groups and process improvement.

  • Experience working as a Fitter/Welder in a Code shop with relevant code experience.

  • Ability to read Blue Prints including weld symbols.

  • Thorough understanding of production systems used in lean manufacturing.

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
