Press Brake Operator Job Description The Brake Press Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating the brake to bend, notch, punch, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal according to blueprint or sketch specifications, supporting production processes. Responsibilities Perform set-ups and die changes as required by the job. Work with steel thickness ranging from 1.5mm to 30mm. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to produce various configurations. Measure and verify dimensions of work pieces. Interpret precise measuring instruments and measure parts for proper specification. Check products for correct shape, dimension, and other specifications. Perform quality inspections for all parts and components produced, ensuring correct sizes, flatness, and tolerances. Complete work orders required for the shift in a timely fashion, following the correct order schedule. May be required to grind laps or burrs from edges of work pieces. Ensure packaging is properly set up as specified (if packaging is required). Document completed work. Clean and lubricate equipment as required. Follow strict quality control procedures. Maintain good housekeeping practices. Comply with all operational procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality, and Environment programs (e.g., IATF, ISO). Perform any other duties as may be assigned. Essential Skills Experience with press brake operation and machine setup. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency with tape measures, calipers, and hand tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Candidates will display their skills on-site during interviews. Employees are expected to work Monday through Friday, with possible full shifts on Saturdays, prepared for a six-day work week. Shift hours vary, with 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm, 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 12am, and 3rd shift from 11pm to 7am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.43 - $21.71/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
