Machine Operator Job Description A leading manufacturer in the Eastern Indianapolis region is seeking skilled machine operators for 2nd and 3rd shift positions. This role involves operating multiple industrial machines, using hand and power tools, and ensuring parts meet quality specifications. Responsibilities Operate various industrial machines, handling up to four machines simultaneously. Utilize basic hand and power tools to change tooling as required. Employ quality instruments to ensure parts meet established quality specifications. Perform repetitive manual lifting and pushing of materials throughout the department. Document materials, batch numbers, and other relevant information accurately. Maintain physical endurance to withstand heat and remain on feet for 8 to 12 hours. Essential Skills Proficiency in machine operating. Experience with hand and power tools. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints and perform mechanical assembly. Competence in operating press and laser machinery. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 1 year of machine operating experience. Minimum of 1+ year per job in work history. Work Environment The work environment is a large, 1 million sq ft facility that is clean but can be hot depending on the department. Employees will undergo a thorough training process on 1st shift for 15 weeks, which includes both lecture-style and hands-on machinery training. The shifts available are 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and 3rd shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with overtime potentially extending the shift by 2 to 4 hours. Notice will be given if Saturday work is required. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Greenfield, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $49920.00/yr.
