OUR MISSION:
The Fifth Louisiana Levee District primary purpose of maintaining the levees along the Mississippi River. The district includes portions of East Carroll, Madison, Tensas and Concordia Parishes. The total length of the levee system is 355 miles, 213.8 miles of mainline levee and 93.1 miles of Red River backwater levee, 14.9 miles of back line levees and approximately 6.3 miles of spur levees. The height and width of the Mississippi River Levee and Berm system within the Fifth Louisiana Levee District makes it the largest Levee District in the state in total number of surface acres to maintain.
About this position:
The Mobile Equipment Operator 2 is a valuable part of the Fifth Louisiana Levee District because of their advanced function of work to operate heavy mobile equipment to accomplish transportation, maintenance, or construction tasks. This incumbent will work under the supervision of Levee Foreman B, Levee Superintendent, or Levee Board Operations Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in mobile equipment operations.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
This position main responsibilities are to operate a field tractor with bushhog mower on levee, maintain tractor mileage, make minor repairs to tractor for maintenance necessary to keep equipment clean and in good working order.
