You will join our team of engineers and project managers within Group Research & Development.
We are a team of passionate, skilled and knowledgeable colleagues who develop and implement new products, processes, possibly with the newest technologies for stone wool production to achieve the added value customers are looking for. What you will be doing
You will work in cross-functional teams focusing on how materials contribute to desired product properties. You'll explore alternatives to mineral wool and seek technologies or processes that ensure optimal and repeatable manufacturing. Identifying new or improved materials and production methods will be a key part of this challenge.
As Process Engineer, you will keep a constant eye on global trends, ensuring we timely adhere to and are aware of any changes in regulations around the world creating needs for change in our processes or products.
Part of the job is translating and understanding desired and identified product properties by Operational Company's sales for new or existing businesses. Translating the needs into materials and a process is a strong part of the job.
Generally, you are involved from concept phase to implementation phase to ensure process is kept and products perform as specified.
Taking part in all the phases with different roles of a project, including:
- Specification and design of complete layouts of equipment, such as hardware and instrumentation
- Create correct control loops in the process and secure equipment is capable
- Development and testing possible solutions
- Presentation and review of proposed designs with relevant departments ensuring correct standards for e.g. health, safety and environment
- Tender processes, e.g. meeting with suppliers
- Commissioning during implementation of technologies including practical process work with PID regulation of the systems
- Data analytics and decide on which data tags are needed/desired
You can expect to travel 60-80 days per year, with trips varying from just a couple of days to a few weeks at a time. You will travel primarily in Europe - mostly to meet with colleagues and suppliers and to supervise the implementation of your designs.
What you bring
You are able to translate specified needs from Operational Company's sales asked by means of product properties into process and material needs.
You thrive in an environment where there are more questions than answers, and you see possibilities in the unknown. You believe and strive that anything is possible and could be realized and understand that in the end price/performance counts as a specified target.
Furthermore, we expect you to have:
- Educational background e.g. as a process engineer, chemical engineer and/or as trained process engineer
- Experience with designing, implementing and installing equipment, preferably related to create products or desired processes for products, emission reduction and particle removal equipment
- Strong pragmatic translation capability to secure accepted processing is secured
- Strong interpersonal and knowledge-sharing skills
- Excellent English communication and reporting skills
- A valid driver's license
It's a plus if you have:
- Experience with effects of mineral wool, melting and spinning and fiber effects on processes and equipment
- Experience with abatement technologies, thermodynamics, or fluid dynamics
- Experience from power plants, chemical processing, process industry in general
- Strong analytical background and understanding of statistics to ensure process capabilities
