This position is located in the laundry section of the environmental management service. The incumbent is responsible for the operation and maintenance on the commercial type laundry equipment located in the washroom. Incumbent uses knowledge and judgement in the safe, efficient and economical processing of an annual workload of approximately 1,000,000 lbs. The processing of hospital linens, employee uniforms and patient wearing apparel on a timely basis to meet general production schedules.To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/10/2025.
EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Needs physical ability for accomplishment of heavy physical tasks for extended periods. Physical demands include: pushing heavy carts; lifting loads over 50 lbs; pulling wet wash from washer/extractor and continual bending, stooping, walking and standing on concrete floors.
Working conditions include machinery noise; hot and humid atmosphere; offensive odors while sorting and washing soiled linen, which is contaminated with infectious organisms and having wet clothing and shoes will pulling laundry loads. Subjected to the possibility of minor cuts, scrapes, bruises and needle wounds.This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
