Position Summary

SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC located in Surprise, AZ is the newest company under the umbrella of Seattle-Tacoma Box Company headquartered in Kent, WA. Seattle-Tacoma Box Company has been under the same family management, for 6 generations spanning nearly 133 years. Currently, Seattle-Tacoma Box Company and subsidiaries support assembly and production operations and warehouses in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California, New Hampshire, and Arizona. SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC is an industry pioneer in the production of plastic corrugated products used throughout the food industry.

This position reports to the Production Manager and is responsible for the Supervising operation personnel by ensuring that the production expectation is met while verifying conformance with safety, AIB and quality standards. Our plant currently runs on (4), 12-hour shifts, we are looking to fill (1) the position for the following shift:

B) Sun-Tues/Weds 7pm - 7am

D) Weds/Thurs - Sat 7pm - 7am

Essential Functions

  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain OSHA, ADOSH and AIB (and any other state or federal regulations) compliance at all times.
  • Plans, organizes and implements improvement processes to achieve organizational, departmental and manufacturing goals.
  • Assure direct report are working safely, effectively and efficiently.
  • Paly an active role in the training of personnel and upwards progression.
  • Perform daily quality inspection of finished products before they leave the department(s) of which they are produced.
  • Monitor and asses employee performance and provide guidance as needed to assure production goals are met.
  • Complete shift reports and submit reports daily.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, recommend, investigate and provide solutions.
  • Work closely with the maintenance department to assure equipment maintenance is scheduled to minimize downtime and maximize production output.
  • Review production schedules, work orders and other records / reports to determine production requirement and workload.
  • Develop, support and motivate production employees in applying company values.
  • Utilize personnel and resources with the best productive outcome.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful and open communication with team members.
  • Maintain housekeeping at a high level in all areas of the plant through the involvement of all employees.

Other Responsibilities

  • Internal: This position communicates at all levels of the organization.
  • Reports to: Production Manager.
  • Supervises: Day or Night shift manufacturing production and people.

Education, Experience and Required Skills

  • 5 years of experience in a leadership position supervising people in a fast-paced production environment. Preferably in the corrugated industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred college degree.
  • Effectively coach team members and provide performance feedback and development opportunities.
  • Project management skills, working within timelines and meeting project completion dates.
  • Good communication skills with staff, co-workers and direct supports.
  • Knowledge of computers and production reporting.
  • Ability to read and understand production schedules.
  • Ability to work within a defined budget.
  • Effectively manage an entire shift of employees and production.
  • Experience with driving a forklift.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle high stress environment.
  • 95% of time spent will be on the production floor assisting and helping the employees achieve department goals.
  • Production area is not climate controlled and may experience extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to lift 50-80 lbs., push / pull 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend or stoop for extended periods of time.
