What You Will Be Doing:

As the Billet Cast House Operations Manager, youll lead all aspects of our Billet Cast House operations. From production and maintenance to logistics and safety, you will drive excellence in everything we do. Your leadership will empower the team to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs), optimize production, and foster a continuous improvement culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership : Manage and inspire a high-performing Billet Cast House team to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals.
  • Continuous Improvement : Drive initiatives to enhance operations through Lean Manufacturing and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Operations Management : Oversee casting, maintenance, logistics, shipments, and EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) operations.
  • Training & Development : Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure team competency and career growth.
  • Budget & Performance: Achieve budget objectives and develop countermeasures when performance deviates from targets.
  • Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment for all team members.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment on goals and initiatives.

Who Were Looking For:

We need a hands-on, proactive leader with extensive experience in aluminum melting, casting, and operations management. Your expertise in these areas, combined with strong leadership skills, will be essential in guiding the Billet Cast House to new heights.

Key qualifications include:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in aluminum smelting and casting (Billet casting preferred) and 5+ years in an operations leadership role with budget responsibility.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Strong understanding and experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Safety: Previous safety training and certifications are a plus.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot production issues and identify long-term solutions.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams, ensuring high levels of performance and morale.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, reading blueprints, and basic knowledge of PLCs.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Level Degree in related field or equivalent experience and education.
  • 10+ years of experience in aluminum smelting and casting, with Billet casting experience preferred
  • 5+ years in an operations leadership role with budget responsibility

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Previous safety training and certification is a plus
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus)
  • Leadership skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and compliance standards billet operations.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a factory setting, which may involve exposure to noise and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs when needed.
  • Ability to manage logistics and warehouse operations in a fluid environment.

Certifications & Training (Preferred but Not Required):

  • OSHA or other safety-related certifications.

Background & Screening:

  • Must pass a background check, physical exam, and drug screen (due to the nature of the work environment and safety requirements).
