Machine Operator I Position Type: Non - Exempt Location (Facility): Victaulic Justin TX Manufacturing Reports to (Position Title): Production Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Learn and Execute elements of Safe Machine Operation involving the B-25 Band Saw, Shot Blaster, and 268 & 414 Groover.
- Perform in-process inspections including dimensional verification and surface prep; perform additional inspections pertaining to product specification.
- Maintain records of inspections and results pertaining to jobs. Verify finished products dimensions and their conformance with drawings, work order specifications.
- Verify proper calibration of all inspection instruments and gauges for workstation.
- Know and understand how to properly navigate Medix per job/spool.
- Complete all daily checklists and TPMs.
- Ensure all area 5S duties are getting completed.
- Communicate and interact with Line Leads and Shift Supervisors on maintenance issues needed with the machinery.
- High School Diploma
- Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment is preferred.
- Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software is preferred.
- Familiarity with SWI/SOP processes.
- Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read tape measure, and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers, vernier scale) preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints desired.
- Good written and oral communication skills required.
- Good problem solving capabilities desired.
- Must be able to work independently, efficiently and be self-motivated and detail oriented.
