Ocenco, Inc.is a manufacturer of escape breathing apparatus, mine lighting, and portable oxygen products. The company was founded in the early 1970’s by J. Patrick Droppleman, Chairman and CEO of the Ocenco Group. In the beginning the company produced a device which could extract energy from sea water, hence the first name Ocean Energy. Through a series of acquisitions and product development, As Ocenco continued to diversify, the Medical Products line of Erie Manufacturing in 1996. The company grew to include Interspiro in 2003.

Ocenco Group is now the leading suppliers of lighting and related products for the underground mining industry, escape breathing apparatus. Ocenco moved manufacturing our products from Northbrook, Illinois to our current Pleasant Prairie location in 1991 and consolidated all operations there in 1993
