Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Mechanical Assembler will assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to detailed specifications, schematics, and blueprints while using hand and power tools. This role ensures that all assemblies meet quality and safety standards through precise measurement, inspection, and documentation. The position also supports production goals through effective teamwork, continuous improvement, and adherence to established procedures and policies. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies according to specifications, schematics, and drawings using appropriate hand and power tools. Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to ensure accurate and efficient assembly. Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, cabinets, and related enclosures. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards. Perform mechanical assembly tasks, including fastening, fitting, alignment, and adjustment of parts and components. Utilize soldering techniques when required to complete assemblies in accordance with specifications. Conduct quality checks and inspections on assembled products to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with workplace guidelines. Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and output targets. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly processes, quality, and efficiency. Carry out supervisory responsibilities when assigned in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Perform other related duties as required to support production and operational needs. Essential Skills High School Diploma or GED. At least 2+ years of on-the-job training or experience in mechanical assembly or a similar role. Proven experience as a Mechanical Assembler or in a closely related mechanical assembly position. Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of mechanical components and assembly techniques. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in mechanical assembly. Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers. Ability to use tape measures and other basic measurement tools accurately. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and standard assembly practices. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work from technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using small tools to build and complete final mechanical products. Experience with electrical schematics or electrical components in assembly environments. Soldering experience in a manufacturing or assembly setting. Comfort working with a variety of hand and power tools in a production environment. Experience participating in continuous improvement or process enhancement initiatives. Ability to take on supervisory responsibilities when needed and follow established policies and procedures. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain an orderly work area. Shifts vary and run Monday through Friday, with openings on first shift (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) and second shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.). The position involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments at designated workstations.
