Job Title: Deburr Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on deburring and finishing sheet metal and other components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will interpret blueprints and technical drawings, use precision measuring tools, and operate powered hand tools and tumblers to remove burrs and polish surfaces to meet exact customer and print specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read and accurately interpret shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications to understand work requirements.

  • Perform deburring, grinding, sanding, and related finishing operations on sheet metal and other parts.

  • Operate grinders and similar powered electric and pneumatic hand tools to remove burrs and blend or polish surfaces.

  • Use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet specifications.

  • Operate tumblers, including loading and unloading the tumbler hopper as needed.

  • Select appropriate methods, tools, and settings to comply with prints and written specifications.

  • Maintain high attention to detail while performing repeated tasks to ensure consistent quality.

  • Work in compliance with safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area within the manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrate regular, reliable on-site attendance in alignment with production schedules.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and accurately interpret shop blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.

  • Experience with deburring, grinding, sanding, and other finishing processes in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Skill in operating powered electric and/or pneumatic hand tools, including grinders and sanders.

  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to verify part dimensions.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repeated tasks with consistent quality.

  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 150 lbs frequently.

  • Physical ability to squat, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, turn, grasp, and reach overhead and outward frequently.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for 110 hours per day.

  • Comfort working in a 5585 degree Fahrenheit work environment.

  • Ability to work safely around loud noises and machinery with moving parts while wearing required PPE.

  • Reliable on-site attendance during scheduled shift hours.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication or handling sheet metal components.

  • Previous aerospace manufacturing experience is advantageous.

  • Prior experience operating tumblers for part finishing is beneficial.

  • Familiarity with general production practices in a manufacturing environment.

  • Comfort using hand tools and powered tools for extended periods.

  • Commitment to following written specifications and quality standards.

  • Willingness to wear hearing protection, eye protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing as required.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noises and machinery with moving parts. The role operates on a day shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work in temperatures ranging from approximately 55 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and in a fast-paced industrial setting. The position requires regular on-site attendance and the use of personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, eye protection, steel-toed shoes, and other appropriate protective clothing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
