Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Device Assembly Technician for a contract opportunity in Saint Paul, MN. This role supports the production of high-quality medical devices and capital equipment in an ESD manufacturing environment. This is not a clean room role.

The Medical Device Assembly Technician will perform routine assembly, repair, packaging, documentation, and testing activities while following standardized manufacturing procedures. This is a strong opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, assembly, electronics, medical device, or regulated production experience who want to build their skills in a structured, quality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble, package, repair, and test medical devices and capital equipment according to written procedures and standardized work instructions.
- Maintain accurate production records, traveler documentation, traceability records, and quality documentation.
- Follow safety guidelines, ESD requirements, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
- Communicate production issues, ideas, and solutions clearly with manufacturing team members and management.
- Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, quality initiatives, and cell performance goals.
- Handle and maneuver small components and parts while maintaining attention to detail and product quality.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $20 per hour.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
- Location: Saint Paul, MN 55117.
- Work environment: ESD manufacturing environment, not a clean room.
- Commitment required: 40 hours per week with no absences in the first 30 days.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Perform assembly, repair, packaging, and test operations on medical devices and capital equipment.
- Follow manufacturing processes, written procedures, work instructions, and verbal directions.
- Maintain accurate documentation for production, quality, traceability, and traveler records.
- Support safety, quality, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

- 1 to 2 years of relevant manufacturing, assembly, production, or operations experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to recognize colors as required for production activities.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Experience following manufacturing processes required.
- Ability to use electronic data collection systems and basic computer software packages.
- Ability to prioritize work based on job sequence, timing, precedence, and importance.
- Ability to handle small components and parts with accuracy and care.
- Ability to make sound decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be able to follow all dress code and production area requirements, including clean, non-shedding clothing and approved footwear.
- Must avoid scented personal products except deodorant and maintain appropriate hygiene for the production environment.
- Must maintain a professional, business casual appearance and avoid clothing or accessories that could shed, become dislodged, or create safety concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in medical device manufacturing or another regulated production environment.
- ERP system experience.
- Experience working in an ESD manufacturing environment.
- Experience assembling or testing capital equipment, electronics, computers, generators, or similar products.
