Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Operations Engineer 4 to join our Mainframe Production Support team. This contingent role involves providing critical support for automated credit, rewards, and credit card hub applications in a specialized, non-standard environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on mainframe application support experience and the ability to work collaboratively in a follow-the-sun model alongside offshore teams.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Level 2/3 production support for automated credit, rewards, and credit card hub applications.
• Monitor production systems to ensure stability and uptime.
• Analyze and troubleshoot failed mainframe jobs (JCL).
• Perform root cause analysis and support ad hoc job executions.
• Partner with Production Control to restart and recover failed jobs.
• Respond to business user requests and application team needs.
• Maintain and update incident tracking using tools like ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Monitor and respond to application group mailboxes.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and create JIRA stories for follow-up.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
• Strong experience in Mainframe Production Support, including application support.
• Proficiency in technologies/tools such as JCL, COBOL, CICS, DB2, CA7, IDCAMS, and Mainview.
• Experience with file tools like File Manager, File Analyzer, and EZTRIEV.
• Familiarity with ticketing and documentation tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, production-critical environment.
• Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable in a specialized/mainframe-heavy environment.

Pay Range: $55/hr-$65/hr on W2
