DuPont is currently hiring a Direct Form Operator for our Newark-Pencader, DE site.

The Direct Form Operator is responsible for operating precision manufacturing equipment to produce high-performance components used in critical applications such as aerospace and transportation. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational discipline while working in a team-oriented, fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate press lines, sintering ovens, and tumbling equipment to meet production and quality requirements while maintaining local and corporate safety standards.

  • Perform in-process inspections and accurately record part dimensions per quality plans and customer specifications

  • Identify and troubleshoot nonconforming parts and support root cause resolution

  • Maintain process control through adherence to standard work and inspection requirements

  • Remove scrap material and maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Accurately report production counts, labor, and required documentation

  • Perform basic equipment care and minor maintenance as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Basic math skills including measurement to thousandths and decimals

  • Ability to read and comprehend graphs, charts & tables

  • Mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools

  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, data entry)

  • Ability to follow written instructions and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

  • Manufacturing or skilled trades experience

  • Experience with powdered metal or resin presses

  • Understanding of SPC and process monitoring

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods and repetitive tasks

  • Lifting up to approximately 40 lbs

  • Walking, bending, and stair climbing as needed

  • Shift work may be required
