REXA, Inc is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes for electrohydraulic actuators used in demanding industrial environments. This role focuses on improving safety, reliability, quality, and cost across machining, assembly, testing, and final integration, while supporting new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Development
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for electrohydraulic actuators and related subassemblies
Develop processes, routings, work instructions, and bills of materials for low- to medium-volume industrial production
Define tooling, fixturing, hydraulic test setups, and assembly aids to improve consistency and safety
New Product Introduction (NPI)
Support NPI activities by translating engineering designs into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes
Collaborate with Design Engineering on DFM/DFA for actuator subassemblies, hydraulic components, manifolds, seals, and control systems
Lead pilot builds and production readiness reviews
Continuous Improvement & Troubleshooting
Identify and execute improvements to reduce cycle time, rework, scrap, and warranty risk
Troubleshoot production issues related to hydraulic performance, electrical controls, sealing, and mechanical fit-up
Apply Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
Quality & Compliance
Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements (oil & gas, power, water, mining, etc.)
Support quality initiatives including process capability studies, PFMEA, control plans, and inspection strategies
Collaborate with Quality Engineering on nonconformance resolution and continuous improvement
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and Field Service teams
Support supplier qualification and sourcing of machined components, hydraulic parts, and electrical components
Provide technical guidance and training to production and test personnel
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline
5 years of manufacturing experience in industrial equipment, valves, actuators, fluid power systems, or related field
Strong knowledge of:
Machining and fabrication of metal components
Mechanical assembly and precision fit-up
Hydraulic systems (pressure, flow, sealing, contamination control)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and hydraulic schematics
Experience creating manufacturing documentation and process routings
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production data analysis
Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with hydraulics and electromechanical assemblies
Exposure to industry standards (e.g., API, ISO, IEC, ASME, where applicable)
Hands on experience with hydraulic testing and pressure systems
