Forklift Maintenance Technician - Direct Placement!!
Job Description
This role is a hands-on maintenance tech position responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of forklifts and material handling equipment across two facilities. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minimizing downtime, with growth potential into managing equipment across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain electric and propane forklifts and related equipment
Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems (turret trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, lifts)
Perform and track preventive maintenance (inspections, lubrication, batteries, tires, fluids)
Identify and resolve issues proactively to prevent breakdowns
Replace common wear components and perform minor adjustments
Coordinate major repairs with vendors and manage parts inventory
Document all work in CMMS (MaintainX)
Prioritize and respond to work orders across facilities
Analyze recurring issues and recommend improvements
Ensure OSHA compliance and safe work practices
Support team collaboration, uptime, and continuous improvement
Essential Skills & Qualifications
35+ years of forklift or industrial equipment maintenance experience
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with electric (24V48V) and internal combustion forklifts
Familiarity with major brands (Toyota, Crown, Hyster, Yale, CAT, etc.)
Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools
CMMS experience preferred (MaintainX a plus)
Valid drivers license and ability to work in industrial environments
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in active warehouse settings

Work Environment
The role is based within the maintenance and engineering department, with a home base in a central facility and responsibilities spanning at least three production buildings, with a fourth building coming online soon. You will primarily work in warehouse and production environments around heavy machinery, operating within a team-based structure where technicians often work in pairs. The fleet includes more than 20 turret trucks, over 10 sit-down forklifts, multiple electric and manual pallet jacks, and several scissor lifts, providing exposure to a wide variety of equipment. Work involves frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting, as well as travel between facilities using a company van. You will initially train on a day shift for several months and may transition to a full-time second shift schedule, supporting ongoing production operations across multiple lines in multiple buildings. The environment emphasizes safe work practices, organized workspaces, and effective use of CMMS and diagnostic tools to manage maintenance activities.
