Electronics Technician Job Description Join a first-shift team that overhauls, tests, and repairs ATM cash dispensing machines and related electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies in a clean, temperature-controlled shop environment. Responsibilities Service and repair electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies by following written procedures and applying technical knowledge. Overhaul and repair ATM cash dispensing machines and related components to meet internal quality standards. Evaluate customer parts to determine the repairs required to refurbish them to standard. Implement, test, and verify the effectiveness of repairs on customer parts using appropriate test equipment. Perform electronic assembly, mechanical assembly, and rework tasks, including soldering and circuit board repair. Use schematics and blueprints to diagnose issues and guide troubleshooting and repair activities. Operate test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to identify faults and confirm proper operation. Maintain consistent, high-quality work output with limited supervision while meeting productivity expectations. Manage time effectively to complete work orders accurately and on schedule. Accurately enter all required information into the repair system and maintain proper documentation for each work order. Assist with continuous process and quality improvement initiatives across all jobs and tasks. Maintain an organized, clean personal workstation and any other workstation used during repair or assembly work. Provide assistance in the shop as required, supporting team members and adapting to changing priorities. Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding repair status, issues, and customer requirements. Essential Skills Mechanical skills and strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with mechanical assembly. Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools in an assembly or repair environment. Experience with electronic assembly, including working with circuit boards and electronic components. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. Troubleshooting skills for electronic and electro-mechanical systems, including identifying and resolving faults. Proficiency using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic measurement instruments. Soldering skills, including through-hole and surface mount soldering for circuit board repair. Knowledge of electronic circuits and devices, including components, semiconductors, integrated circuits, sensors, motors, and solenoids. Ability to use mechanical measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators. Good verbal communication skills to understand and relay technical information and customer requirements. Ability to understand the product and differing customer requirements and apply that understanding to repair work. General computer skills, including use of software such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, superior work quality with limited supervision. Effective time management skills to handle multiple work orders and meet deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with testing, repair, and overhaul of complex electro-mechanical equipment, such as ATM or similar machinery. Background in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly in a production, service, or repair environment. Comfort working in a smaller shop environment with close collaboration among team members. Interest in professional growth toward higher-level technician roles with increased responsibility. Familiarity with continuous improvement practices related to process and quality. You will perform electronic and mechanical assembly and repair at a dedicated workstation, maintaining a neat and organized area while occasionally rotating to other stations as needed.
