Lead CNC Lathe Setup Machinist Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CNC lathe setup and machining experience
• Ability to set up and operate 2 and 3 axis CNC horizontal lathes
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls
• Competence in reading blueprints and working knowledge of GD&T
• Experience using various measuring instruments and gauges for production and first-piece inspection
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and precision
• Capable of thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Lead CNC Lathe Setup Machinist Preferred Background & Skills

• Working knowledge of G-code programming
• Experience with bar feeding systems a plus

Lead CNC Lathe Setup Machinist Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal lathes to manufacture precision components
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure high-quality output
• Inspect completed parts with gauges and measuring tools to verify compliance with all dimensions and tolerances
• Support workflow efficiency and contribute to process improvements
• Communicate effectively with team members and leadership on production status and issues
