$34.00 Per Hour - Paid Bi-Weekly

Bonus eligible - $2.00 shift night differential

Terms:

Full-time

This position requires flexibility within shift patterns, particularly during the evening and overnight hours. Must be able to work any day of the week and be able to adapt to schedule changes to align with business needs. Please understand that we are only accepting applications for those able to work on a night shift schedule.

The role:

The Maintenance Technician will support the production team by providing equipment repair and preventive maintenance services on sophisticated equipment in packaging and/or process areas to ensure continuous operation of machinery and production processes.

The TMICC Covington factory is a 24/7 high paced dynamic work environment. We achieve goals through collaborative cross functional teams in the safe and quality delivery of finished goods across the shift they are leading. Making brands such as Klondike, Popsicle, Breyers, and Good Humor ice cream.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Responds immediately to equipment-related problems and installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs all equipment in the business area to ensure minimal downtime. Makes repairs on operating equipment in the processing and/or packaging operations.
  • Observes and tests operation of sophisticated electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and/or mechanical devices to evaluate, identify and resolve operating problems.
  • Dismantles equipment and machinery to identify, remove, repair and/or replace damaged or deteriorated components and reassembles appropriately.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices.
  • Monitors equipment meters and adjusts temperatures as needed.
  • Monitors all equipment, instruments and connections of the scheduled sterilization process and identifies the required preventive maintenance, calibration and line checks.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery to include repair/replacement of electrical wires/connections, welding, re-soldering, lubrication of parts, cleaning of filters, recalibration of controls, changing line gaskets, adjusting components and/or cleaning of equipment.
  • Maintains maintenance logs and work order documentation on equipment repairs.
  • Troubleshoots programmable logic controls (PLCs) and PLC controlled equipment with a computer and various modules as diagnostic tools.
  • May use a digital voltmeter, mega-ohm meter and/or AMP probes to diagnose electrical problems.
  • All other duties as assigned

We're looking for someone who:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Associate degree in mechanical/technical program or one (1) year of technical school training in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, electronic, fluid and programmable logic controllers or completion of an approved apprentice program.
  • Related experience in these fields and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • A minimum of three (3) years industrial maintenance experience. Experience in Food Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to pass the NOCTI exam if selected to interview onsite.

Working environment

  • Variable, consisting of the office environment, the mix room, and the manufacturing floor. Potential hazards include proximity to moving machinery, chemical exposure, or heavy lifting. The position may require an individual to stand, stoop, move equipment; bend, reach, or lift for prolonged periods of time. PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and sanitary footwear.

  • In addition, there will be exposure to allergens such as dairy, eggs, tree nuts, coconuts, peanuts, wheat (gluten), soybean, and cinnamon. There will also be exposure to chemicals and gasses such as ammonia.
