The Shipping Clerk - 3 works as a part of a Warehouse and Material Handling team performing multiple duties for the construction of windows, patio doors, and accessories. The team member's assigned team and job tasks will vary based on business necessity.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Manufacturing-related experience is preferred.

  • Job specific experience is preferred.

  • Knowledge of lift truck operation or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of computer terminal operation or equivalent.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision

  • Proficient oral communication

SKILLS & TALENT

  • Decision making / problem solving in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.

  • Use of hand tools and machinery is required.

  • Requires written and oral communication skills and the cognitive ability to learn the safety, quality, and productivity standards.

  • Learn, comprehend and implement Lock, Tag, Try and safety and quality procedures to assure the safe and proper operation of the equipment.

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's using units of American money.

  • Familiarity with American units of measure for weight, time, and distance.

  • Read and interpret blue prints.

  • Use of measurement devices.

  • Good record keeping.

  • Inventory control experience.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job.

  • Ability to learn and perform repetitive job tasks.

  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance duties.

  • Maintain good housekeeping.

  • Loading, unloading, or relocating of raw materials, processed parts, or finished products

  • Monitor production assembly schedules to insure they are met on a timely basis.

  • Rotate inventory and make necessary cycle count adjustments.

  • Must maintain quality of parts moved an insure accountability for all material movements through established inventory control systems.

  • Accountable for production counts and must maintain 98% + inventory accuracy.

  • Maintain scheduled lift truck and battery station TPM check lists and will be required to change out batteries as needed.

  • May be required to work in production areas when production and shipping schedules reduce the material handling workloads.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and monitor PSS (Pella Shipping System).

  • General understanding of RIMS (RoboCom Inventory Management System) in order to release routes, check inventory locations, update audit status and stock-out.

  • Identify and correct any discrepancies in load plans and distributing and communicating all relevant paperwork to employees, customers and the company.
