Job Description The GMP Sanitation Technician maintains a clean, safe, and compliant production environment in accordance with regulatory and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. This role focuses on executing sanitation procedures for equipment and production areas, supporting consistent product quality in a cosmetics manufacturing facility. Responsibilities
- Perform sanitation duties in compliance with regulatory requirements and GMP standards.
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, including process vessels, transfer pumps, scales, and water meters.
- Disassemble equipment and components as needed to thoroughly clean and sanitize all required areas.
- Check and document water temperature and soap or chemical concentrations to ensure they meet established sanitation standards.
- Follow established sanitation, CIP (Clean-In-Place), and SIP (Sterilize-In-Place) procedures for equipment and production lines.
- Maintain accurate and complete sanitation and quality documentation, including batch records and related quality records.
- Support adherence to quality requirements by recognizing and documenting out-of-specification (OOS) conditions related to sanitation.
- Handle and use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with written procedures.
- Perform tasks that require manual dexterity, including handling equipment parts, tools, and sanitation supplies.
- Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to support consistent, high-quality manufacturing operations.
- Complete other duties as assigned to support production, sanitation, and quality objectives.
- Experience with sanitation in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food or cosmetics production.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements and their application to sanitation activities.
- Hands-on experience with sanitization processes, including CIP (Clean-In-Place) and SIP (Sterilize-In-Place) procedures.
- Ability to disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment and production areas safely and accurately.
- Familiarity with batch records, quality documentation, and basic OOS (out-of-specification) concepts.
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and follow written sanitation procedures.
- Capability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, including handling tools, equipment parts, and sanitation materials.
- Comfort working around process vessels, transfer pumps, scales, water meters, and related production equipment.
- Basic documentation skills to record sanitation activities and measurements clearly and accurately.
- Prior experience in cosmetics manufacturing or related regulated manufacturing environments.
- Background in food manufacturing sanitation or similar production sanitation roles.
- Understanding of quality documentation practices and regulatory expectations in a GMP setting.
- Ability to operate or work around forklifts in a production environment, where applicable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high sanitation and quality standards.
- Reliability and consistency in following established procedures and work instructions.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moorpark, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
