Our client, an aerospace and defense manufacturer in Sterling Heights, is seeking a large press operator to join their team. As a large press operator, you will be part of the assembly team supporting production goals. The ideal candidate will have ability to work independently, a strong work ethic, and reliability which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: large press operator

Location: Sterling Heights, Michigan

Pay Range: $18/hr-$20/hr

Shift: 1st shift: 5am-3:30pm Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts
2nd shift: 2pm-12:30am Monday-Friday 10 hour shifts
Saturday is mandatory overtime typically 6-8 hours

Whats the Job?

  • responsible for stamping, assembling components, conducting repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently.
  • produce steel, aluminum, and prototype parts on a 2000 + ton hydraulic press
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Whats Needed?

  • Experience in development and design new tools and dies.
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Minimum of 5 year of die tryout press operation.
