McCain Foods Canada is seeking a General Operator to join the team at the Grand Falls Plant on a 6-month temporary contract. This role plays a key part in supporting plant operations by ensuring safe, efficient production processes while maintaining quality and compliance standards. The General Operator will work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to equipment operation, material handling, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role operates on the following shift: 4 days on (2 day shifts and 2 night shifts) followed by 4 days off. What youll be doing.

• Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers at all times
• Perform material handling, including lifting and moving 19 kg boxes and bags
• Follow changeover policies and production requirements
• Support sanitation duties as required
• Troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs)
• Support SQCDPE targets by understanding and contributing to KPI achievement
• Follow Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in STEP safety programs
• Identify and help resolve production issues in a fast-paced team environment
• Participate in team meetings and complete required training and e-learning courses
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What youll need to be successful.

• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with supervisors and production teams
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Basic computer skills are an asset
• Good mathematical skills with ability to complete production documentation accurately
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment
• Willingness to learn and operate lift trucks (experience is an asset)
• Proven commitment to safety with a strong safety record

Compensation Package: Starting at $22.24 CAD hourly

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
