Position Overview
The Downstream Operator is responsible for monitoring and supporting the final stages of the production line to ensure finished products meet quality and packaging standards. This role involves wrapping product onto reels, performing cutting and inspection tasks, and verifying accurate packaging and labeling prior to shipment.
This is a hands-on role in a manufacturing environment requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely around machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor downstream production to ensure product is wrapped evenly and properly onto reels
Perform visual inspections to maintain product quality and identify defects
Use measuring tools to confirm products meet specifications
Cut conduit using hand and power tools as part of the production process
Verify packaging and labeling accuracy before final inspection and shipment
Support general production, assembly, and machine operation tasks
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Follow all safety procedures and operating guidelines
Communicate quality or production issues to the team promptly
Required Qualifications
6+ months experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Experience operating or working around machinery
Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools
Ability to use basic power tools
Experience in production, assembly, or general labor roles
Basic inspection skills (measurements, defect detection, labeling checks)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a machine operator
Experience in packaging or assembly environments
Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
Interest in advancing into line stream operator roles (plastic extrusion/melting)
Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills
Work Schedule
12-hour rotating shifts (2-2-3 schedule)
Days: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
Nights: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Alternating 36-hour / 48-hour work weeks
Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend
Work Environment
Manufacturing facility with active machinery and continuous production lines
Work with reels, conduit, and industrial equipment
Requires standing, monitoring equipment, and performing repetitive tasks

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
