CNC Programmer - Custom Architectural Woodwork

O.B. Williams has been building custom architectural woodwork in Seattle since 1889.

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with AutoCAD proficiency to join our team.

This is not a repetitive production machining position and this is not an entry-level role.

Our 2023 CNC machining center features X, Y, Z, and C-axis capability with moulder head operations. Projects include curved and radius work, elliptical components, carved details, custom doors, architectural paneling, and one-of-a-kind residential and commercial interiors.

The ideal candidate can develop machining strategies from shop drawings, optimize CNC programs, solve production challenges, and work independently with minimal supervision.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Program, set up, and operate CNC equipment
* Create and optimize CNC programs from AutoCAD drawings
* Develop machining strategies and tooling solutions
* Perform on-floor troubleshooting and program edits
* Review and interpret shop drawings
* Coordinate with cabinetmakers, engineering, and fabrication departments
* Continuously improve efficiency, quality, and throughput

QUALIFICATIONS

* 5+ years CNC woodworking, architectural millwork, cabinet manufacturing, or related manufacturing experience
* CNC programming and setup experience required
* AutoCAD proficiency required
* Strong understanding of tooling, machining strategies, and fabrication methods
* Ability to read and work independently from shop drawings
* Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail

CAM SOFTWARE

Experience with RouterCIM is highly desirable. Experience with AlphaCAM, Cabinet Vision, Microvellum, Mastercam, EnRoute, Aspire, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software will also be considered.
