Equipment Operator - Powerline Construction

You are an experienced and safety-minded Equipment Operator supporting Powerline construction projects across Saskatchewan. Your role involves a combination of heavy equipment operation and hands-on labour, including work in challenging ground conditions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as: Excavators, Skid steers, Backhoes and Zoom booms (as required)
  • Perform rock drilling and trenching in various soil and rock conditions
  • Complete general labour duties, including: hand digging and trenching, assisting with pole setting, conductor stringing, and underground utility installation, site preparation, grading, and cleanup
  • Conduct pre-trip and routine equipment inspections
  • Follow all company safety policies and participate in daily safety meetings
  • Work closely with crew members to meet production targets

Qualifications:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment in construction or utility environments
  • Experience with rock drilling or working in rocky terrain is required
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license (Class 1A or 3A considered an asset)
  • Strong work ethic and ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork
  • CSTS, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, or other safety certifications are assets
  • Experience working around live utilities is an asset

Work Conditions:

  • Travel to various sites is required
  • This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions
