JOB SUMMARY

As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced Shot Peen Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will shot peen parts to customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate shot peening equipment, including Automated Multi-Nozzle Pass-Through Machines, Automated Wheel-Style Tables, Manual Peen Cabinets, Almen Gauges, and Sieve Shakers.

• Set up and use Part Verification Tools, verify peening intensities against Technique Sheets and Saturation Curves, and ensure all process requirements are met.

• Create and maintain Technique Sheets and Saturation Curves for new and existing part numbers.

• Mask parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Read and interpret job requirements to determine machine settings, adjustments, and proper part positioning.

• Monitor machine operation, identify malfunctions, and perform minor maintenance, including replacing worn components, adjusting metering valves, and implementing minor modifications to improve performance and efficiency.

• Inspect parts before and after peening for burrs, sharp edges, complete coverage, rollover, bulging, and other conditions that may affect quality or part integrity.

• Participate in internal and NADCAP audits while maintaining required certifications, annual recertifications, inspection stamps, and associated responsibilities.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.

• Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with team members and other departments.

• Adhere to all work rules, quality standards, and safety regulations at all times.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working in an inclusive environment and collaborating effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including persons with disabilities.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, specifications, and instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Proficient in the use of basic measuring instruments and inspection equipment.

• Strong mathematical aptitude, including the ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and apply concepts of algebra and geometry.

• Ability to identify, organize, estimate, compare, and recognize similarities and differences in data, processes, and physical characteristics.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze practical situations, evaluate variables, and make decisions in environments with limited standardization.

• Willingness to accept new responsibilities, take on challenges, and adapt to changing priorities.

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with a wide variety of personalities, provide direction and guidance, and contribute to a positive team environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English through verbal communication, American Sign Language, or adaptive technology

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High School degree or equivalent and six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Regular exposure to an indoor manufacturing environment, including moving mechanical equipment, moderate noise levels, and occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

Salary Range: $18.00-$30.00
