Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire a Senior CNC Manufacturing Estimator & Programmer in Austin, TX to support a precision machine shop in reviewing incoming RFQs and determining manufacturability, cost, and risk. This person will analyze drawings and specifications, develop machining estimates, and identify any concerns prior to quote submission. They will also create CNC programs for mill and lathe work and help translate awarded jobs into plans including setups, tooling, and routing. The role works closely with machinists, quality, and operations to ensure smooth transition from quoting to production while improving estimating and efficiency across the shop. This is a part-time onsite role expected between 20-30 hours per week, with compensation expected to be between $45/hr and $55/hr W2.

Skills and Requirements
10+ years of CNC programming, or estimating experience
Strong hands-on experience with both CNC mills and CNC lathes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and machining specifications
Experience estimating machining cost, setup time, cycle time, and tooling
Ability to support jobs from RFQ through production readiness - Experience in aerospace, defense, or AS9100 manufacturing environments
Experience with Haas mills and lathes (3-axis and live-tool lathes)
CAM software experience (Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM, Esprit, etc.)
Technical certifications (NIMS, GD&T, CNC programming, etc.)
