Machinist Pay: $20 - 25/hr Shift: 2nd shift: 3:15pm - 1:45am, Monday - Thursday Job Description This position offers an opportunity for a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. You will apply your technical expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and equipment setup to deliver high-quality components while maintaining a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and other production equipment, to manufacture precision parts. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to determine machining requirements and ensure accurate part production. Perform machine operation tasks such as drilling, grinding, braiding, shearing, and other machining processes as required. Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM tools and adjust machine controls to achieve desired dimensions and tolerances. Measure and inspect finished products using appropriate measuring tools to verify that parts meet specifications and quality standards. Troubleshoot machining issues, identify root causes, and make necessary adjustments to equipment, tooling, or programs. Perform changeovers efficiently, including setting up tooling, fixtures, and machine parameters for new jobs. Maintain equipment by performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic mechanical adjustments to ensure reliable operation. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and production staff to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency and quality. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and safety protocols. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and handling materials. Essential Skills Proven experience operating manual and CNC machines such as lathes and mills in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files accurately. Strong machine operating skills, including drill press and grinder operation. Hands-on experience with machining processes such as grinding, drilling, braiding, and shearing. Proficiency with CNC programming and CAD/CAM software for machining applications. Solid mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems and machine tools. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make appropriate adjustments. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality, precise parts. Ability to maintain and perform routine maintenance on machining equipment.
