Production Technician Job Description The Production Technician performs preventative maintenance, minor mechanical repairs, and equipment assembly in a manufacturing environment. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical equipment, supporting machine builders with sub-assemblies, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on production and industrial equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately assemble and service equipment. Pull and route low-voltage wiring as needed to support equipment assembly and operation. Work with hydraulic, diesel, and mechanical systems to support equipment build and maintenance activities. Conduct system testing and quality assurance checks to verify proper functionality and performance. Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, including maintenance records, repairs, and tests. Use hand tools and related equipment safely and effectively for assembly and repair tasks. Follow and enforce all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies while working on equipment and in the production area. Collaborate with team members and machine builders to ensure equipment is assembled and commissioned according to specifications. Essential Skills Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, including the ability to "turn a wrench" confidently. Hands-on experience working with cars, tractors, diesel trucks, or industrial manufacturing equipment. Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and support sub-assembly work for machine builders. Experience with assembly work, including mechanical and basic electrical components. Familiarity with low-voltage systems and pulling wire for equipment assembly. Basic understanding of hydraulics, diesel systems, and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physically hands-on tasks. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation. Ability to follow safety regulations and company policies consistently. The role offers two primary shifts: a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and an overnight shift from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
