Shipping Clerk Job Description The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for performing clerical tasks and scheduling shipments from behind a desk. This role involves processing all outbound shipments and ensuring efficiency within the shipping department. Responsibilities Process all outbound shipments and label shipment items with PRO numbers, as needed. Schedule daily trucks for shipment dispatch. Maintain, file, and record prior days' shipments. Monitor and maintain the department's daily shipping metrics. Screen all trucking personnel before granting access to the property. Maintain communication with the order department to ensure customer satisfaction. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience as a Receiving Clerk. Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments. Proficiency in computer usage. Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP software. Familiarity with BOLs (Bill of Lading) and shipment labeling. Tenure of 1+ year at each previous job. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with shipping and receiving processes. Data entry skills. Forklift operation experience. Strong customer service abilities. Why Work Here?
