Mechanical Assembly Technician - Conveyor Systems Job Description This role focuses on assembling conveyor systems and mechanical subassemblies using detailed blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. You will install, align, and adjust mechanical components and systems to precise tolerances, perform inspections and troubleshooting, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable automation equipment. Responsibilities Assemble conveyor systems and mechanical subassemblies by interpreting blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Install and align components such as belts, motors, gearboxes, drives, control panels, and structural frames. Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to complete assembly tasks safely and efficiently. Perform mechanical adjustments, fitting, and alignment to meet required tolerances and performance specifications. Conduct visual and functional inspections to verify quality, proper operation, and compliance with standards. Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues, replacing or adjusting components as needed to restore proper function. Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, and quality teams to resolve issues and complete builds on schedule. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the assembly process. Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including lockout/tagout practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Essential Skills Proven experience assembling conveyor systems or material handling equipment. Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Hands-on experience installing and working with mechanical components such as motors, drives, bearings, and belts. Experience working with pneumatic or hydraulic systems in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Experience in automation, machine building, or industrial manufacturing environments. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools for mechanical assembly. Ability to perform precise mechanical adjustments, fitting, and alignment to tight tolerances. Solid troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. Commitment to following safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineering, fabrication, and quality teams.
